Hineman Jack Farm - Lane County
This sign on the roof says "Fairview Stock Farm" but this was also know as "Hineman's Jack Farm". This is a picture of sale day. Once located in Lane County it had a reputation of being one of the finest mule stock farms. |

Cottrell Barn - Marshall County
Fred Cottrell built a one hundred foot diameter round barn in Marshall County in 1908-09 as the centerpiece of his Blue Valley Hereford Ranch.The basement could hold 300 head of cattle and the main level could hold 20 carloads of cattle in stall around the perimeter. |

Thomas Barn - Rooks County
The William Thomas Barn was a huge barn. It was 100 feet long, 64 feet wide & 64 feet all. It could stable 54 horses & 50 head of cattle. It won the 1908 State Board of Agriculture photography contest for "Best Barn" in Kansas.
Reverend Richard Taylor formed a not-for-profit corporation for restoring the barn and when nearly complete in 1995, it as destroyed by fire, apparently started by lightning. |
